Chillichilly targets individuals who appreciate products that are also works of art. The products embody the fusion of form and function including dining and kitchenware, timepieces, office accessories, lighting and other household goods, and they are all unique in their design that prompts Chilichilly’s in-house design team and Chillichilly’s incited group of internationally renowned designers to continually seek new ideas.
At present various distinctive products are lunched for human pets, such as a a dog, like non-alcoholic and non-carbonated beer made in a real brewery. Recently, the Hong Kong design company, Chillichilly has also come up with a new product for a dog. “Alice 001’ by Alive Wang is a wine glass, which is one of the products under ‘Pet Plus’, a project that explores possible ways in which people treat their dogs as surrogates.
On a peaceful day such as this warm Sunday morning in Hong Kong, we had an appointment with Chillichilly, a product design team, at Wah Lok Industrial Centre in the New Territories area. Our destination was the Fotan train station, which beaconed us to open up to other perspectives of Hong Kong.
“I think the main challenge is to integrate the graphic into the product, so it makes something seamless and new, not like it’s just slapped on. That is an unsuccessful application of a graphic to a product. It must compliment each other, become refined and something greater than the sum of the 2 parts. It is a refined process.” –Jeremyville

Doodling their way into our homes, artists and designers are leaving their mark with delicate details in their own hands. The forest depicted on ChilliChilly’s series of platinum porcelain By the Lake cups and saucers reflects the designers’ quiet admiration for the many faces of nature.
The silhouetted trees that encircles each By the Lake porcelain cup are mirrored in the platinum-played surface of the matching saucer. What’s more, the miniature images change with the light and point of view–a tiny visual tempest in an exquisite teacup.
